I've finally stepped a foot into the magical land. Thanks to Paula, actually. It's been two years since her visit to Paris and she insisted on going to Disneyland. Me, personally— going to a theme park is a waste of money, plainly because I can't take rides. I cannot stomach the dropping sensation when the roller coaster goes up and down within seconds ゞ◎Д◎ヾ

But being the best friend, I gave in and opted for the One day Magic Pass (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

2 Major errors  
• You should buy your tickets in advance
  There weren't any queue at the counters, but tickets were 99€ instead of 89€ (ʘ言ʘ╬) If you have plans to visit Disneyland, make your plans earlier and hunt for cheap tickets! I've found tickets at 59€ (for 2 parks) before!
• Always bring a coat
Somehow, Disneyland is always freezing cold at certain times. So don't skip on that coat, because it'd definitely be useful! (mind you, this was in April)
 
 

Getting to Disneyland

The easiest way would be by RER. It would be the cheapest option too (14€+). DisneyExpress is an additional 20€ if I remember correctly. But there's only one morning bus and one in the night. So imagine all the people that would board the bus!

So then RER? The simplest way to get your RER tickets would be at your nearest Metro Station. Instead of going to the counter and fumbling between English and French, it's easier to use the machine to get the tickets. Select English language, and everything would be so much easier! Just select single ticket purchase, choose your current station name and pick your destination / which is / Marne la Vallee Chessy. That's the name of the station for Disneyland!

Taking RER seems a little complicated at first. Marne la Vallee Chessy is on Line A. So look out for line A on the signboards, and the names of the incoming trains. Sometimes different train directions comes on the same platform! So take note and you'll be fine! The journey would be 35 to 50minutes depending on the traffic. Don't forget to keep your tickets to exit the station when you arrive! Regular Paris city-center tickets will not allow you to exit the gantry.

Disney stores

When in Disneyland, you need #mickeyears! We took our time trying out all the different ears, it was basically #selfietime. I've always loved huge plushies but never had the heart to splurge on them. We went to many shops before deciding. I was originally looking for Stitch or Pooh ears but none of them seemed to be available. I checked with some of their sales assistants and they told me that those were sold out! ╥﹏╥ But indeed, different stores offered different varieties! So lookout for some of the shops before deciding, or else you may regret it.

In the end, I decided to stick to the magician mickey (14,90€) that I've always liked. Chip and Dale mickey ears were at 19.90€; were super cute too.

Horror Tower

(｀㊥益㊥)Ψ The first ride that Paula wanted to go was the Tower of Terror, erh-hum.

NO WAY.

This was literally my nightmare. I could have tried out other milder rides first, HA. So both of us split our ways. Paula went to queue for her ride while I explore the surroundings. We came to terms that my criteria for rides suitable for me would be rides suitable for expecting moms （๑✧∀✧๑）

Ratatouille

Ratatouille was mainly the reason why Paula wanted to come to Disneyland. Apparently this is a regional ride, where you can't find it in other Disneylands. Another friend highly recommended it. Most importantly, it's a pregnant-mommy-friendly ride (๑>ᴗ<๑)

We went for the 40minutes wait, because our timing were between lunch time / parade of the princesses and pirates. You know the thing with amusement parks are those simple looking queues that tricks you into thinking that "oh, the queue ain't too bad", and when you're in the queue, it takes 123456 turns before it's finally your turn -`д´-

Anyhoos, it was a very cute ride that's worth the wait! You're seated in little mouse-cups that moves around a hidden track, along with huge screens that projects 3D animation. You'd go through some funny realistic scenes (●♡∀♡) And then the cuteness ends smoothly within 10minutes

SNACK

Unfortunately, we didn't have time for a proper lunch because the parade was starting soon. So like true-asians, we sat down on the front row 20minutes before the show started.

While waiting, I went to get some ice cream and crepes. Despite the terrible shivers I got in the morning, we were super hungry. Ben & Jerry's seemed to be the most accessible and easy to eat.

Dinner

My never-ending hunger wouldn't be that easily satisfied with ice cream. I originally thought of going to Bistrot Chez Remy for a proper meal, you know to sit back and relax a little, among the crazy holiday crowd. But looking at the prices (32-60€ per menu) / the queue and the time we had, it was impossible. So we settled for fast food.

There were lots of chairs and tables outside, but the temperature decided drop. Chilly winds were picking up, Paula found refuge in her emporiums while I continued walking around looking for a good spot to settle down for the fireworks!

Fireworks

Found the perfect spot in front of the castle and waited a good hour before the show started! As usual, no matter where you go, you'd always meet some inconsiderate people. A sea of lit up phones blocking the perfect shot. Unlike my Disney experience in Japan, strangers were fighting amongst themselves because stranger nº1 was too tall and refused to step down for shorter people like us... blah blah blah you get the gist. That moment, I wondered, whey aren't people sitting down in the unspoken-polite-row manner. I guess if everyone the world had manners like the Japanese, the world would have been a better place.
