Them, Parents

Champs Elysees - A stylish walk with Parents

You know you've been living alone for a while and feels really happy when your parents visit–

so that you can count everything on them for the weekend. Technically, because they will bring you out for good food and  pay for a fresh new basket of food in your fridge. Hah, I kid you not. It's one of the greatest reasons when they come and visit me in the capital of the country.  Whoops/ Now I sound like a spoilt brat. Also, they become my human tripod hahaa. Ok, sorry! It's not just food/tripod that's important. It's the quality bonding time that cannot be compare to the hour long telephone calls. It's great to spend time together with my parents, but it's also great to live alone. Now that my brother is also back in this country, a family of 4 is split into 3 different homes, it's not easy to get together.

I think the only reason that I'm not over weight now is because how much time i spend walking in this city, just look at the amount of cakes and pastries I eat every weekend. I just couldn't resist walking into Eclairs de Genie or Angelina to grab something. It has become almost a weekend ritual now. Plus the festive season is back! My favorite Pierre Hermé macaron flavours are back, White Truffle + Hazelnut and Foie Gras + Chocolate! I've been controlling my self well enough not so splurge. Speaking of my greatest activity— eat, I dragged my parents to Miss Ko for some sophisticated sushi (which is so far, the only place I know with sushi varieties). I was really contented until the moment where we were forced into paying extra for their pour boire. Then I was told by a Parisian that it's a trick that they do to cheat tourists into paying more for tips. I wasn't even a tourist plus it wasn't the first time visiting and spoke fluent french and still got cheated. So take note, in France, you only tip when you're happy, there's not such thing as additional taxes on alcohol or what not because usually, taxes are already included. Damn.

See how my dad's the poser here? Unfortunately, as you can see, I didn't inherit his modelling skills :D

You'd notice my new pair of boots! Huraay! After a zillion years of trying boots everywhere, I finally found a pair that fit my huge feet and skinny calves. I found them when my best friend's sister was in town shopping at Chanel. So, out of curiosity, I tried them on, a timeless piece– where I can style it with anything— THEY FIT MY CALVES! Okay, let's explain a little. My shoes are sized EU39/US8.5 but apparently my calves are super skinny (I don't see how skinny they are at any angle). Any pair of boots that I try casually usually leave me 2-3cm of awkward emptiness/ like fish monger boots my mom use to say. So it's bad, even with my jeans stucked in. I've tried 100s of boots. Dior and Louis Vuitton boots didn't fit my calves either. If you have skinny calves just go straight to Chanel. I'm sure they'd fit you! Even the sales assistant said Chanel's boots are quite skinny and usually people can't really fit in. That's totally my chance! The secondary question would be whether your wallet agrees with you. And voilà! I took the chance— as always, its the last pair. It's probably the easiest way that the sales assistant say to convince the shopper. HA!

Speaking of Chanel, the new mini website Chanel #SousleSigneduLion designed by myself and my Spill team is finally launched! Go and check out the story behind Gabrielle Chanel's obsession about Lions and of course those beautifully crafted lions!
