Time flies so amazingly quickly that I hadn't even realize that its been a month since my Eastern Europe holiday! So, as my usual attitude, this trip was quite impromptu, I didn't really plan anything besides buying a two way air ticket to Prague, booked various airbnb's— and made an utterly stupid mistake on booking a hotel on the wrong date #wtfiswrongwithmyeyes

Fast forward a month, d day is here to fly off to Eastern Europe for a week. I went with my family and my bestie joined us later on the first night. My dad rented a car— the best way for us to travel between Prague, Vienna and Budapest, which was really affordable (so check that out, if you're interested or wait for my travel updates!)

Prague hasn't been really good to me.

I arrived with a slightly gloomy forecast, a temperature drop to 15-18degrees and lots of drizzle-wetness! I didn't really know how to dress for the occassion, all I know was "it's gotta be chic". I was glad that I brought a blazer, it helped with the chilly winds.

While waiting for Jean's arrival in the evening, we went around food hopping and found this gorgeous pink building. I couldn't just stand there without any pretty shots. I was quite amazed by Prague's architect (do colors considered to be part of the architect?), the buildings are so colorful! I thought I was on a land-version of Venice's Burano. The cutest parts are that they alternate colors, from pink to yellow, to green and blue. It feels so happy!

Outfit Headache

I was having a huge headache on what bag to carry, I made the best choice to bring out the Pochette Metis. It's like a classic piece that fits every outfit; split into 3 pockets, it's light and just the right space to fit my wallet, battery charger, sunglasses, lipstick and other random stuffs like postcards, keys, earphones. On another hand, my DSLR. I prefer not bring a huge bag and dump everything in. It makes the bag super heavy on the shoulder. So I keep the camera on my hand and I can shoot whenever I want!
Shoe wise, was another tough choice. Being limited to only 1 cabin baggage, I decided to bring flats. These days, I feel like I'm too old for heels— the strain is too much on my legs #oldageisreal This pair of Tods are really comfty, they have thicker sole that's lightly cushioned, great for walking the whole day.

Ok not everything that started out in 2017 was terrible. As you may have guessed, I was, eh-hum, I am still wrenching my heart out to Dokaebi. The drama started out in December 2016, but I didn't watch it until January. I hated the idea of watching only 2 episodes a week. So I waited. There was a lot of hype about it. Paula never stopped bugging me to watch. When 14 episodes were available, I started watching. Obviously, I fell in love with the characters, when you have two hot actors, Gong yoo and Lee Dongwook— you simply cannot resist. I was a little skeptical about the female lead, cuz she's so young. But it turned out fine. I love her character...

In ancient times, Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) is an unbeatable general in wars, but the young King (Kim Min-Jae) is jealous of Kim Shin and kills him. Kim Shin becomes Dokkaebi (Goblin), possessing an immortal life. At first he thinks that he is blessed, but he realizes that he is cursed.

Closer to the present day, Kim Shin has waited 900 years for a human bride to end his immortal life. One night, he saves a dying pregnant woman (Park Hee-Von) who is destined to die. Meanwhile, the Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-Wook) is unable to find the dead pregnant woman. The woman gives birth to a baby girl named Ji Eun-Tak (later played by Kim Go-Eun). 9 years later, Ji Eun-Tak lives with her mother and is able to see ghosts. One night, her mother suddenly dies. On that night, she meets the Grim Reaper.

In the present day, Ji Eun-Tak is a high school student. She still sees ghosts and hears their whisper of “Dokkaebi’s bride.” She now lives with her aunt’s family, but she is mistreated by them. On her birthday, Ji Eun-Tak sits by the sea with a lighted birthday cake. At that time, Kim Shin suddenly appears in front of her. Kim Shin does not know why, but he can hear her voice and appears in front of her against his will. Coincidentally, Kim Shin lives with the Grim Reaper at the same house.

Now, Kim Shin appears in front of her against his will, whenever she turns off the lights. One day, Ji Eun-Tak tells him that he is Dokkaebi and she is his bride.

Drama plot taken from Asianwiki.

The drama was a hot topic for a couple of reasons.

No doubt for the amazing cast, as well as their impeccable fashion choices. / Apparently all the long coats in South Korea are selling out thanks to the actors  / The imagery and CG effects were amazingly well done. And of course, reading the plot, it may seem like another fairy tale, but unexpected plot-twist were so tear-jerking that simply re-watching certain scenes would bring out my tears in a matter of seconds  yes, I'm that dramatic these days. So if you have some spare time, watch it!

Coming back to myself, well– if you recognized, I've always loved coats of all sorts. I decided to wear this coat home because it was Lunar New Year celebrations. With my habit of dressing up in black and white, I thought a little splash of red and blue would do some peace for my ears :) if you have traditional mom like me, I'm sure you'll understand

Since I couldn't get over Dokaebi, it seemed like I was trying to dress up as a combination of characters. With a Grim reaper hat and Dokaebi's long coat.. However I assure you it's not exactly how it seemed, besides neither the dokaebi nor grim reaper would be smiling. I've been looking for a black flat top hat, which is called a Matador hat. I found it at The Kooples with -50% sale, still freaking expensive. I wonder why matador hats are so hard to come by. Besides Grim Reaper's hat is a wide brim fedora hat that's Made in Heaven :P

I'm sure Paula is roaring in laughter somewhere while reading this, but let's hope I get over Dokaebi soon...

Happy 26th!
20160807_happy26th_01.gif

Officially 26 means no more free museum access :( when I stupidly was interested in a couple of exhibitions!

Weirdly, while I was typing this post, I kept thinking I'm 27  , signs of age #seriously.  So then, as you can see, I'm back to my beautiful Marais neighbourhood. The emptiness of a Parisian summer is actually quite cool, lesser tourists crowding around the corners, makes taking photos so much easier!

A month and a week is gone with a blink of my eye. It's time to wet my office seat with my sweat and racking up some brain cells. For the past 5 weeks, I've been walking around the south of France, Italia, and London. Practically walk off my feet (I sound like an old granny, but aye)— I guess it's time to get glued to my seat while resting my feet as much as possible. From what I've heard, looks like I've missed out much much much work, meaning a pile of work would be greeting me tomorrow morning... :( #canigetanotherholidaynow

In fact, I was working my brains off on my birthday (which is the 6th actually). I had a deadline for Monday, plus the previous nightout in a bar, I was tired to the core. Nevertheless, I managed to leave my house for a good dinner and movie night out #harleyquinnisthequeen (Absolutely love her! And hum— I'm weirdly attracted by her twisted love story with Joker). I think I've bought a lot of gifts for myself this birthday, my crazy splurging over the holidays was probably too much :P but I still went out and got my flowers for myself. Plus thank you to the coussie for the mini cake! I think I haven't blowed a birthday candle nor had a birthday cake in ageeeesssss. Maybe I should think about throwing a party for my 30th.
