Above Bassin D'Arcachon

my home town

This sun-kissed country-side by the name of Bassin d'Arcachon (or Arcachon Bay) is where I spent my childhood and where I'm currently residing. Located somewhat 65km away from the south west of Bordeaux, it is consisted of a few port towns, mainly producing Oysters.

Locals often split into two sides, côté Arcachon or côté Cap Ferret. If you're in Arcachon, the town directly opposite would be Cap Ferret. Except to get there, you'd have to take a ferry or drive an hour. So I hardly go over to the opposite Cap.
If you look a the map, Cap Ferret is the tip "protecting" Arcachon bay from the huge Altantic ocean.

My brother got his Flying License (≧∀≦ゞ

I've tried flying with my brother when he was still learning. His instructor is a cool old man. When I flew with them, he made my brother do a 60º turn that left me partially floating in mid-air. In a way, it was rather scary for my first-time in such a small plane. But now that my brother can fly whenever he wants, it makes me eggcited to try new stuns!

However, this was the first time we brought our mom along. She was originally freaking out about how scary the flight would be Ψ(`∀´#)ノ but we both managed to convince her and tryout a flight with her new private pilot.

彡゚◉ω◉ )つー☆*

We booked a flight on a Sunday morning... but there were a lot of people getting onto another plane for parachuting ヾ(≧∇≦)ゞ While my mind would love to experience that 10000 feet jump, unfortunately my body isn't ready yet!

busy sunday

Almost all the planes were booked, it was a tight schedule so we had to wait for our turn.  When it was our turn, dad was busy being the paparazzi, recording every moment of us settling down in our tiny plane. While I was pretty much busy trying to get Instagram Live working ヽ(ヅ)ノ #priorities

Besides, it was the first time that I got the front row seat! Eggcited was an understatement.

If you haven't notice, one of my favourite place to chill around would be at La Coorniche. It's a bit of an expensive poser hotel club, however you get the perfect views of the sunset and great ambiance when the sky turns into a different hue. Forget Cote d'Azur, I'd gladly live there forever if I can!

    Cruising in my pjs*

It's a Sunday morning ride. Knowing myself, getting up early on a Sunday morning is probably a difficult feat. *I looked like I was in my pjs but that's just the suit pants from one of my latest Zara loots (ᗒᗨᗕ)

The 30mins' gone in a giffty. You could see that mom enjoyed her ride and she finally understood why my brother enjoy flying so much. And before the next pilot comes to get our plane, we took the chance to snap photos next to the mini jet. If ever I have the money, I'd definitely love to fly one of those myself, but looking at the theories of navigation... I guess, that will be for another life... (๑•́ ₃ •̀๑)

Almost 4 months late; but better late than never!

Paula caught me in Paris during it's best months of the year where almost every corner was blooming in colours. Despite being in the city of lights for 5 years, I have never been to Parc de Sceaux. Neither have I heard of this amazing garden. While I didn't think that I'd leave Paris this year, I definitely made the right choice to spend a brunch session enjoying hanami

The blooming scene caught the hold of many other ig-ers, including myself. But holy, it wasn't easy finding the perfect spot. While I could believe that I've been transported to Inokashira park, but the rising volumes that wouldn't stop buzzing around my ears brought me back to reality. (*ノ_<*)

    Picnic Basket

I never thought that I'd be that motivated for a morning picnic of all things.

Parc de Sceaux is located in the suburbs of Paris. Getting there took plus/minus a hour. In order to snug a good spot, it's best to get there early. Paula was craving for Popelinis (heavenly good cream puffs), so we had to wait for the opening of the shop at 10am before being able to leave the city.

I woke up way too early on a Sunday to prepare Strawberry-Banana smoothies, truffle-salted eggs ⚈ ̫ ⚈, crsipy bacon, getting to the bakery to get croissants.

    how to get there—

The train ride to the nearest station Parc de Sceaux took approximately 40mins. But you wouldn't be immediately greeted by the fresh florals. Instead, you'd have to walk through a huge part of park (I was going to say, forest) before reaching a pink heaven (You may thank me in advance!). However that walk lasted at least 20mins, along with your heavy basket, it feels like your exercise of the day has been completed.

Then set up your picnic, and enjoy the precious moments before newcomers start eyeing on your spot!

    The Real chill—

It was a pleasant surprise to wake up to a white wonderland Paris. It was probably some 6-10cm of snowfall throughout the night for the snow to last a couple of days. I was out on my way to meet someone for a project, and found out that bus services were cancelled for the day. I had to walk all the way, worried-sick about getting myself to the location without breaking a nose or ankle. Of course, after multiple slippery sensations along the way. I was so glad to reach my meeting point, a fun café filled with warmth and delicious smells.

Some 3 hours later, I came out smelling like bacon and tried to make my way home. I found a small refuge at an empty bus stop to take a break (・∧‐)ゞ A break from that slipping sensation with every step I took.  Noted that I never have the right pair of shoes for the right occasion. But at that moment, I don't think I had any other pair of shoes that were slip-proof.

I also took the chance to grab the camera (≧▽≦) but my iPhone quickly died on me. The cold temperature simply froze the phone and depleted the battery. I was so glad to have my Canon with me!

    IG-WORTHY VS REALITY

Don't mind my worn-to-death faux-fur coat, but it was my coat of the season ♡

Sometime later, when temperature rose, snow melted, ice puddles were formed. Chunks of ice were melting from rooftops. I was walking along the streets, and ploufff a huge chunk of ice dropped some 60cm away from me. A few tiny piece of ice flew towards my face—

    Σ(▼□▼メ)

It hurt like fuck. It stings like hell even 15minutes later. An hour later, I saw my reflection in the mirror while passing by Zara. And holy shit- those 2 ice "shards" actually cut my face, the cuts were bleeding... No wonder it hurt so much!
