French Patisserie
I'm back from another short trip to Paris to meet my BFF's BFF.
I gotta say we sure can chat!4hours on the TGV alone isn't fun at all. In fact it was very tiring, and to add on to it, my dearest friends bought me lotsa food from Singapore! I almost broke my head trying to put my luggage on the cabin . All thanks to an old man that helped me.
Reached the hotel late with a super hungry stomach! Thanks to mum's croissant-x-curry-puffs for the temporary filling before heading out to Ladurée at Champs Elysées. It was actually my first time dining it. I've only ever bought their macarons at CDG's airport. It's forever filled with lots of people even if it was a Sunday. Most of them are tourists, since it's the middle of summer. Many shops are closed. Living the french life, crowding the country's border's beaches. I'm sure many beach locals hate that because I do too.
I'm a super fan of millefeuilles. But unfortunately, this millefeuille from Ladurée was burnt. (rage) (wtf) Super disappointed, you can taste burnt parts from the crispy parts (rage) though luckily the cream and raspberries were good. Felicia's Reglieuse au Chocolat was good too, though I find it rather hard. Overall, I think Angelina is better and Ladurée is a little overrated. I wonder if it's a coincidence or did they really take note of the color of your plates to make your table multi-colored?
It was around 4pm in the afternoon, after walking around the whole afternoon trying to explore the city, my feet ached. Seeing this huge circular building was a sign that I should take a break…
