Painting Sunday
To some people, I probably draw and paint great but I do not agree. I don't have the basics. I just draw and sketch based on what I like and my instincts. To a professional illustrator, what I draw probably has a lot of proportion errors. Sometimes I try to learn, most of the time, I'd just say "dang it", I'd paint as I like (argh) Watercoloring is one of my favorite past time, an activity that I'm finding lesser time for it. On random days, I'd miss watercoloring so badly, I'd take out my sketch book and browse deviantArt, search for the prettiest picture and sketch it out. (yes)
Mostly, I'd look for fashion modelling photos. Recently, I'm very much in love with Jingna's work. I am a fan of her new series of fantasy photoshoot, Motherland of Chronicles. I can't help it but to sketch and paint them. Unfortunately, I didn't do great justice to her original work. Perhaps it will do you much good to visit her gallery and check out her wonderful shots.
This is my once-a-blue-moon illustrating excercise. It's my personal training to learn to sketch human expressions. I have 2 thick sketch books worth of watercolors. And started a new one. Since it's for practice and most of the time, I never know when to stop. I filled up a whole piece of A3 watercolor stock with too much extra stuffs that spoils the whole sketch. At least, I am glad that my trusty watercolor hasn't rot in a corner ;)
On a side note, one of my biggest change in 2014 is the outbreak of bold lipsticks. I'm onto YSL Rouge pur Couture these days, thanks to Paula's great makeup influence.
I spent a week there with some friends. And one of my best activity was signing up for a Ceramic Class. While we travelled in a group, I had planned some solo activities since not everyone were interested in the same stuffs.
